The Opportunity
A full-service commercial MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) contractor with more than 50 years of continuous operation in the Hampton Roads / Tidewater Virginia market is seeking an experienced Strategic Account Manager.
This role owns the customer relationship end-to-end β discovery, diagnosis, solution design, and value delivery across maintenance, repair, retrofit, and new installation. The company's diversified portfolio includes industrial refrigeration and manufacturing alongside its core commercial service offering.
Strategic Account Managers at this organization are described as their customers' most trusted advisor. The expectation is consultative, relationship-first selling into a commercial and light-industrial buyer base the firm has served for five decades.
What You Bring
- Commercial HVAC outside-sales experience with a demonstrated track record of growing and managing accounts
- Mechanical aptitude including hands-on familiarity with hydronic systems (chilled water, hot water, steam)
- Ability to develop commercial HVAC maintenance and installation / retrofit estimates
- Experience selling into commercial and light-industrial buyers β not residential, not retail
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent master-level field experience
- Skilled, consultative communicator β ability to listen first and position solutions second
Preferred Credentials
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
- Professional Engineer (P.E.)
- LEED AP or LEED Green Associate
- Existing commercial customer relationships in the Tidewater / Hampton Roads market
- Industrial refrigeration sales or service exposure
